Palacio Nacional da Ajuda Lisbon

Category: Lisbon Buildings – admin – 8:30 am

The contruction works for the palace started in 1802 and last until today. It was the idea of King Joao VI to build a residence for Portugals kings.

Althought the palace was not finished, the equipment of the finished parts is quite luxuriant and impressing. There are a lot of antiques and works of art.

One of the most interesting attractions of the building is the pink hall with chairs and tables made of Meissner porcelain.

Some few rooms of Palacio Nacional da Ajuda are used for important official receptions.
