Belem is located about 7 kilometres from Lisbons city centre, but known as the centre of the cultural Lisbon. The most important sights of the city can be found here. There is the monastery of Hieronymus and the “Torre de Belem”.

It was also no problem for Belem to survive the earthquake in 1755. This was the reason that Belem became a very popular place of residence for the rich and the aristocrats until today.
The pink place of “Palacio de Belem” is another worth seeing attraction of Belem, and the headquater for the Portuguese president since 1910.
